"Barrow Full of Schools" Competition

Example from Royal Horticultural Society Schools' Wheelbarrow Competition

Pre-schools and primary schools surrounding Torfaen and Newport are invited to get creative for our new “Barrow Full of Schools” Wheelbarrow Competition, to be held at Llanyrafon Manor between Saturday 27th and Monday 29th May 2017.

This competition is based around the RHS School Gardening Competition which is open only to Cardiff, Caerphilly and Vale Schools. We wanted to provide something similar open to our local schools.

This will (hopefully) be our first of many with a different theme each time. The theme for this year will be ‘Grow to Feed’ to fit with our farming heritage and status as a biodiversity site.

Entries are welcome from all pre-schools and primary schools (up to age 11 or year 6) from Torfaen and Newport.

There is no charge for entering and only one entry per school is permitted, although schools may contact us should they have a nursery who would like to participate. Should there be enough interest we will look to set up a class just for nurseries.

Only the first 60 entries received by the closing date will be allowed into the competition so enter soon!

For further information visit the Barrow Full of Schools page on our website.
